What is Covenant?

"I will send out an army to find you In the middle of the darkest night. It's true, I will rescue you..."

The covenant between God and animals is a concept found in the biblical book of Genesis. After the great flood that destroyed all life on Earth, except for Noah, his family, and the animals on the ark, God made a covenant not only with Noah and his descendants but with all living creatures to never again destroy all life on Earth with a flood. This covenant is a promise of God's protection and care that extends to all animals.

Although, as humans, we are granted dominion over animals, we are also entrusted to care for and respect all living creatures. Our moral duty as humans is to treat animals with kindness, compassion, and respect. This duty also encompasses humane treatment, protection from harm, and stewardship for animal welfare.

This covenant sets a precedent for our rescue work. It is this sacred commitment to nurture, protect, and respect all animals that underscores our moral obligation to protect and cherish all living beings, prompting empathy, stewardship, and respect towards all cats in our communities.
